Belfast City Council and Derry City and Strabane District Council bid for European Capital of Culture

Belfast City Council and Derry City and Strabane District Council are bidding for the prestigious title of European Capital of Culture 2023.  We believe that this presents a real opportunity to not only showcase, on a global scale, the cultural and creative aspects of the whole region but also acts as a major catalyst to support the wider social, cultural, economic and physical regeneration of this place.

It is vital as we develop our bid and the supporting programme of cultural activities that we build momentum and gain the support of our key partners and stakeholders.  A key strength in our submission will be the widespread and multi-sectoral support for the bid and willingness to work in partnership to support its effective delivery.
